Moving the Active System from the Local Drive to a Server This instruction file is for moving the DATA of the Active System from the local C: drive to a Server Drive. Note: Download Special #2 on the Dietary Computer to make sure it has all the latest versions of the programs 1. Setup the Server drive and map the local Dietary Computer to access the server drive. Note the drive letter. The Active System must have access to the root of the server. A WJS folder will be placed in the root directory of the server and all data for the Active System will be copied to the WJS folder. 2. Load the Active System on the Dietary Computer. At the top of the opening Roster Screen you will find a Staff/Office drop down menu. Click it and then click Temporary Change of Server Drive 3. Input the Drive Letter of the Server and Click OK. This will create the necessary folders on the server. It will create the WJS folder and then several folders inside the WJS folder. 4. Go Back to the Staff/Office drop down menu and this time click the Copy Data to Server Option. This copies all the data to the server. This may take several minutes to an hour. Also note that the hold files are copied and these are Zip files. Administrative privileges may be needed to copy the Zip files. Also, you may have to answer A for All to overwrite all files if this is not the first time you have copied data to the server. 5. Go Back to the Staff/Office drop down menu and this time click the Copy HCCMenu Folder to Server option. This copies all your menu files to the server. 6. Now you should have a copy of all your data on the server. Next, go to the Facility Drop down menu on the Roster Screen. It is next to the Staff/Office drop down menu. Go all the way to the bottom of the menu and click Data Location Setup. The program will load and the Actie System will end. Click Yes to the opening prompt. 7. Now click the pink button called Change Data Drive. Put the drive letter of the server in the slot and click OK. Click Yes to the same opening prompt as before and you will see the drive letter has changed from C to the new server drive for the majority of the paths in the setup file. Some of the paths need to remain as C. 8. Now click Exit and click Yes to save the file and then you can save the setup file under another name if you wish. Click OK or cancel to the prompt. It does not matter. Once the program closes, reload the Active System and the top Caption bar on the Roster Screen should read [Network F:] on the far left of the caption, where F is the drive letter of the new server. The Active System is now looking to that server for its data.
