The Dietary Component of the Active System is by Far the most Useful and Comprehensive Part of the System. This is because the majority of the System was written by Dietitians and CDMs.

The Active System allows you to sign on with or without a signature file. There are two types of signature files, one signs all printouts, and the other signs the actual comment section of the resident. The second method allows you to store the actual signature with the assessment. Many Different People can insert their signature into the same resident's comment file.

Dining Locations are easy to setup and keep track of in the Active System. Note the long descriptions that appear on the residents tray card or select menu.

Putting Pictures into the Active System is easy. You only need a digital camera and this organized input program from the Active System.


The Active System is the only system that features Automated Spreading of Regular Diets acrossed any number of other Special Diets. This dramatically reduces the time needed to create menus, and allows you to change your menus easilty in accordance with resident wishes.

Menus can be printed with or without portion sizes and/or scoop sizes. There is even a finger foods version of the entire menu system. This is a true finger foods menu for all diets. Once the menu is spread, combination diets are handled automatically by the Active System. Menu Substitutions are already assigned and automatically applied and printed on the individual meal card or select menu.

The Active System Interfaces with your Refrigerators, Freezers, Steam Table and Dishmachine to Take and Record Temperatures Automatically at pre-set intervals. This system is very well accepted by all inspectors.

Automated Temperature Record

Special Sensors are wired through out your department to make sure your temperatures are taken and recorded. The system alarms when a temperature is out of compliance. Now you can prove your equipment has been operating within compliance between inspections. The system readings can also be monitored remotely and the readings are included on the Emailed Facility Summary Report.

There are 1200 Long Term Care Specific Quantity Recipes in the Active System and more are being added every day. It's easy to add your own, and each recipe has an historical record section to record special notes about each recipe.


The Inventory program is already filled with all the common items for a Nursing Home.

The inventory program features location or zone inventory which dramatically reduces the time required to count your inventory. There is also a very useful provision for interfacing with your Vendors Ordering Program to download current pricing directly to the Active System and match it up to your inventory items.


On the Clinical Side, the Active System is completely integrated between the Dietary Production and Service and the Clinical Dietetics.

The Active System pulls all Likes and Dislikes, Nourishments, Weights, Labs and Meal Consumption from the Cardex to the Objective portion of the assessments. The narrative notes from the residents Dietary Comment Files shows a complete history for the resident.


Recommendation by the Dietitian or any other Healthcare Professional are Tracked by the Active System. You can make sure all recommendations are addressed timely.

The Active System takes information from the resident cardex and automatically fills out an MDS Section K Worksheet. This offers training and guidance to the Dietary Manager and makes sure the MDS matches the Nutritional Assessment.

If a signifant change in weight is indicated, the Active System stops, displays the resident's weights and lets you decide whether the weight change is an actual change, or due to inaccurate weights.


The Active System is also capable of Automatically hiliting and filling out Dietary Raps in much more detail and in a much more individualize fashion than with just MDS data.
